The main problem with sound is when it isn't working where you want it to work. For example, when you are connected to a projector and smart board via HDMI, the sound still comes out of the speakers on the laptop.
It's easy to miss, but you can click on the speaker on the Task Bar, then select sound options icon, you can see a list of destinations fo sound output. In this case you'll want to use the one labeled "Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)" in order to have sound go to the built-in speakers. We have been seeing Clevershare and Unplug'd "hijack" the sound settings. If "Speakers (Sharing Audio)" or "Speakers (Cast Audio)" is selected, this is the fix.
A recent update to the Unplug'd application on Windows added a speaker icon to the lower right corner of the window. The default is set to about 1/3rd of the way up. Set this slider all the way up and you shouldn't have an issue with it anymore.
Follow the steps above to the Sound Output options list. In this case, you'll want to use the "PC Monitor..." item to enable sound to be sent through the HDMI connection.
For some reason, and believe us when we say we'd love to know why, the Unplug'd app sometimes mutes your sound. Like the other example, this is easy to miss. All you need to do is click on the little speaker with the 'X' next to it to make the X go away.
If you know the problem isn't the computer because you are trying to play something directly from the interactive board, please check to make sure the sound hasn't been turned all the way down. You can check by swipping up from the bottom edge of a Boxlight board.
This is the same idea for Google Meets and Zoom. Check microphone and sound output inside the program itself as well, switching it to "Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio" for output and local microphone for input. If you are on Sharing Audio, and you are not sharing through Unplug'd or Clevershare, you will not be able to hear sound.
If the two example above don't resolve your problem, then a restart might be in order. If the problem still persists after a restart then see your Media Specialist or complete a help ticket.
