Survey Administration

• The National Office will provide affiliates a link to the pre- and post-summer Student Survey; affiliates will then administer the survey to students during the appropriate window.

• How you administer the survey is up to you. Many of you regularly administer surveys to your students - we encourage you to use a process that is familiar to them. 

  • Some ideas: Build survey time into Orientation, complete the survey during advisory

Sample script: 

“For the next 10-15 minutes, you’ll be sharing your responses to a survey which is intended to learn more about you, your school experience, and your thoughts about Breakthrough. This survey is confidential, so please be honest in your answers. You’ll be taking this survey twice during the summer - once right now, and once again towards the end of the summer. The information from these surveys will be used to improve our programming for future years. If you have any technology-related questions as you complete this survey, please let me know.”

Survey Windows

Pre-summer: Before summer program or during the first week of summer program

• National sends affiliates the link on April 25th

Post-summer: Last week of summer program

• National sends affiliates the link on June 23rd

Survey Analysis

• National will provide pre- and post-survey raw data (student survey only), and affiliate-level and collaborative-wide pre/post-survey analysis in the fall.

Survey Administration

• The National Office will contact your Teaching Fellows and Instructional Coaches directly using the email address we have from their application/Salesforce. We would appreciate your help in reminding your TFs and ICs to take the surveys. 

• Teaching Fellows will receive a pre- and post-summer survey. Instructional Coaches will only receive a post-summer survey. The surveys will be administered in batches (dates for the batches below!). If for some reason these times do not generally align with your summer program dates, please reach out to Jee and Jenny. Please ensure your TF and IC rosters are accurate in Salesforce at least one week in advance of the survey launch date.

Survey Analysis

• National will provide TF and IC affiliate-level and collaborative-wide pre/post-survey analysis in the fall (no raw data).
