How do I log in to Exact Path?
All program staff, instructors, and students can log in to Exact Path using this login page. Account is "brktcb."
I don't have/don't remember my Exact Path login information.
Please email Jenny.
I used Exact Path last year. Do I have to create student accounts again?
Nope! If you have been using Exact Path, you only have to add any new students to the account creation sheet. Please also update your students' grade levels and mark any dropped/exited folks as "inactive."
What information is required for Teaching Fellows and instructors in the account creation sheet?
You only need to enter first and last name, username, password, and role. You do not need to enter their date of birth or demographic information.
How long does it take for students to take the diagnostic assessments?
Last summer, 87% of students completed their post-summer Math assessment in less than 75 minutes and 95% of students completed their post-summer Reading assessment in less than 75 minutes. We recommend setting 1.5 hours aside for each assessment so that there is time to review expectations and answer students' questions. Remind students to pace themselves.
How can I use the diagnostic assessment data for instruction?
Check out the Exact Path Instructional Supports page. You can also look at the class specific data (learn more about this in the Exact Path Administration page) to create small groups and teach more targeted lessons.
How do I report on Exact Path data?
The National Office recommends using one or more the following data points:
Data Point 1 - Academic Growth: a. X% of students grew in reading; b. X% of students grew in math; c. X% of students grew in reading and/or math from pre- to post-summer.
Data Point 2 - “High Achievement”: At the end of the summer, students' average reading/math percentile rank was X.
Data Point 3 - Combating Summer Slide: X# Breakthrough middle school students (X%) grew or maintained grade level expected skills in reading/math between the beginning and end of Breakthrough programming.
These data points will be analyzed and provided by the National Office. Please see the Exact Path Reporting Language Recommendations memo in the Exact Path Homepage for more information.
