It is the Performing Arts Department vision that all students will explore, create, analyse and celebrate drama and performance in its many forms. Students will engage within the Performing Arts curriculum through dramatic play, movement, exploring and making sense of the world.Â
Students will gain knowledge of the history and the evolution of theatre where they will be given the opportunity to reflect and explore other worlds and lives with a rich sense of culture and social history. They will journey through the past to learn how the many forms and styles of drama and theatre of the present day are influenced by the creatives who came before us.
Students will be exposed to a variety of practitioners, playwrights and approaches to creating their own performance work that gives them a voice and allows them to become the future performers and creators of tomorrow.
Performing Arts encourages students to become creative risk-takers who are confident not just in performing but in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
