Art and culture illuminates our inner lives, enriches our emotional world and teaches us compassion. Our curriculum exposes young people to the creative industries to nurture a culturally enriched life.
The arts celebrate diversity of our national identity. Participation in arts and culture can contribute to community cohesion, make communities feel safer and stronger and reduce social exclusion. Our curriculum teaches young people to think for themselves, harnesses creativity and develops an understanding of how the Creative Arts reflects our history. The Creative Arts contributes to the culture, creativity and wealth of our community.
Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity. We believe that creativity is a fundamental aspect of education and a cornerstone of personal development.
We endeavour to nurture the creative knowledge and ability of every individual through teaching practical visual language skills, an understanding of aesthetics, perception and encouraging expression; equipping young people with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design.
Young people learn about the world around them, strengthening their understanding and expressing a clear vision and voice through creative visual outcomes.
