“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” Plato
Music provides young people with a powerful and distinctive form of communication and expression. It develops thinking, increases perception, imagination and creativity and physical coordination; skills which can then be transferred to other areas of experience and learning.
within the music curriculum we endeavour to nurture and provide a stimulating, coherent and ambitious music curriculum where students can develop their artistic and musical creativity. A place where they enjoy making music in a supportive manner; understanding and creativity through performance, composition, listening and appraising by collaboration with their peers and through evaluation of their own work.
Young people will learn about the world and music around them, strengthening their understanding of different styles and genres of music and to express a clear vision through creative audible outcomes.
