In Geography at Bowland will intend to produce global citizens who have an awareness and understanding of what it means to be a citizen of a global sustainable community.
We do this by delivering quality teaching which ensures students understand geographical principles which they can apply to a variety of familiar and unfamiliar contexts from around the UK and the wider world. We teach content in its totality and constantly vary topics between human and physical geography to provide a varied and balanced appreciation of the ideas, skills and topics in this discipline.
We seek to enable students the opportunity develop their intellectual curiosity and an evaluative understanding of the world via discussion on case studies and topical issues. We should have the flexibility and desire to incorporate world events and issues which are either planned or developing.
