Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) sets the standardized rules for managing federal grants. It outlines requirements for spending, tracking, reporting, procurement, and audits to ensure accountability and reduce administrative burden across all recipients of federal funding.
The Uniform Guidance was updated in Sept 2024. A crosswalk of the updates can be found here.
Personally Identifiable Information, or PII, is information that can be used, either on its own or in conjunction with other information, to identify a specific individual. This document provides guidance to offices in the City of Boston’s Worker Empowerment Cabinet on the collection, maintenance, usage and retention of PII, drawing on guidance from the U.S. Department of Labor and the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act.
A Supplier/Vendor ID is a unique 10-digit number that is assigned, owned, and managed by the City of Boston to identify anyone doing business with or receiving funding from the City.
A Supplier/Vendor ID is not required to apply for a grant, but it must be obtained before a grant is approved and your payment is processed. This also enables you to sign up for direct deposit if you are awarded a grant. If you are using a fiscal sponsor, they must register for a Supplier/Vendor ID in order to receive funding on your behalf.
