As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and optimizing plastic components and molds for drone systems. You will work closely with the mechanical and manufacturing teams to create ergonomic, lightweight, and durable designs ready for mass production and field deployment.
Design plastic components, enclosures, and housings using CAD tools with DFM principles.
Develop mould-ready part designs and work with tooling vendors for prototype and production molds.
Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and detailed part specifications including material and finish details.
Collaborate with mechanical and avionics teams to integrate industrial design with system constraints.
Participate in prototyping using 3D printing and validate form, fit, and function.
Support selection of appropriate polymers based on mechanical, thermal, and environmental requirements.
Maintain design documentation including drawing packs, BOMs, and revision histories.
Work on Development of Design registration and utility patents.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Fusion 360.
Hands-on experience in designing plastic parts and understanding of injection moulding processes.
Strong understanding of polymer properties and manufacturing constraints.
Excellent drafting skills and knowledge of tolerances, GD&T, and DFM/DFA principles.
Ability to visualize and refine ergonomic and aesthetic aspects of drone hardware.
IP Creation & Documentation, Portfolio Management, Compliance, and Crossfunctional Collaboration
Portfolio of past plastic/mould design projects.
