Earning badges 

Blogging is an important part of your learning at Bay of Islands College.  Regular blogging helps with your understanding in all subject areas.  You will develop important online communication skills to help you articulate (express) your ideas and to show what your are learning about.   You teacher will give you guidance and support to write and publish blog posts.  

Elementary Blogger Badge

Once you have published 10 quality blog posts in 2025, you will be eligible to apply for the Elementary Blogger award.  To qualify you need to check you have met the following criteria;

• Ensure every blog post has an appropriate title, relative to your learning

• Add blog post labels, to show which subject the post is representing

• Add topic labels to your posts.  For example in Science, you might have a topic label like Earth Science, Chemistry, or Experiments 

Bronze Badge Award

• To earn the Bronze blogger award, you must have completed the following;

• 25 quality blog posts 

• Labels for every post

• Text formatted correctly 

• Replied to any comments on your blog, using the positive, thoughtful, helpful framework.
