Accessing your blog

Blogging at Bay of Islands College

All students at Bay of Islands College have their own blog that is automatically set up for you by the school's Manaiakalani facilitator.   Your teacher will organise a time in class for you to access your blog for the first time.  It's important you follow the steps on the slide deck so you get a premium account account.

Your teacher will give you guidelines on how to write blog posts and publish your work.

If you are an ex-student from Kawakawa Primary, Paihia School or Tautoro School your blog will be transferred to your high school gmail account.

Students do not need to make a blog however, students do write blog posts.

If you are having trouble accessing your blog Click here

If your blog is not working properly or you don't have one click the button below.

If your blog link is promoting you to upgrade,  you only have the free version of Edublogs.  This may have happened if you have not posted to your blog in a while.  You can still use your blog but you will not be able to embed media or use the premium features.  Watch the video below to activate it and click here to request a premium account.

Bookmarking regularly visited sites

To help you find your different learning links, get into the habit of bookmarking frequently visited sites like your teachers' class sites.

Click through the slide deck on the right to see how.  It's easy and only takes a minute to get setup.

Once you've got your bookmarks organised everytime you log into your chromebook you'll be able to access your links quickly.

If you want to access your books from a desktop computer at the school or from home just log into the Chrome browser using your school email address and your bookmarks will populate along the top.  If you're using a public computer, remember to log out of your browser when you're finished.
