Maria Baeza

Maria Baeza is a seventeen year old senior who attends Bloomfield High school in New Jersey. Maria Baeza's favorite movie is Barbie. Some of Maria Baeza's interests include reading, painting, biology, and botany. Maria Baeza is an environmentalist who believes that people should protect the earth because it is our only home. Maria Baeza hopes to become a botanist when they grow up.

Sophia Baldevarona

Sophia Baldevarona is a 14 year old freshman student at Bloomfield High School. She is a proud Filipina, and has 2 brothers, she often struggles with middle child syndrome. She plans to produce her own music, and hopefully become a successful artist. Sophia is obsessed with Hello Kitty, and her favorite show is Victorious. Sophia is a February Pisces, and loves talking about astrology. Some of her hobbies are playing the guitar and ukulele, and she occasionally likes to sing. Sophia loves pretty jewelry, and is obsessed with music, her top 3 artists being Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey, and Clairo.

Adam Berkel

Adam Berkel is a seventeen year-old senior. This is his first year in journalism, but he’s had interest in it since junior year. He is also the vice president of the school’s poetry club. Adam has had an interest in writing since he was little, and it has only grown with each passing year, constantly hoping to be exposed to new forms and styles of expression and creativity. Some of his other interests include philosophy, psychology, culinary arts, music, fashion, and weightlifting.

Sianah Buggs

Sianah is a 16 year old junior who attends Bloomfield High School. She’d rather stay home than go outside, I guess you can say she’s an introvert. She enjoys writing but not so much of reading, and prefers spring over summer. Her favorite thing to do is listen to music. She prefers audio books over reading, silver over gold, and English over math.

Evan Cox

Evan Cox is a sixteen year old student at Bloomfield High School. He’s in his third year at BHS making him a junior. Evan was born in New York, but raised in Bloomfield so he’s been here his whole life. Evan’s favorite book is “Carrie” by Stephen King and his favorite genre to read is horror. He enjoys writing and is very passionate when it comes to what he’s writing, especially if it's something he enjoys writing about and hopes to pursue a career in journalism some day. Evan usually does his best writing in quiet spaces while listening to his favorite artist Sabrina Carpenter. He hopes to write articles that are interesting to read for others.

Danica Gayatinea

Danica Gayatinea is Senior at Bloomfield High School. She’s always listening to music and loves Gracie Abrams, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey and The Cardigans. She is on the varsity girls tennis team, and plays second doubles. She loves to scroll through Pinterest and create mood boards in her free time. Danica is also one of the Presidents of Bloomfield High’s Red Cross Club, and hopes many people get involved this year! Danica also enjoys watching movies, and her favorite movie is Princess Diaries. One of Danica’s many dreams is to travel the world, and would love to go to Europe in the future!

Jaylee Herrera

Jaylee is a sixteen-year-old senior at Bloomfield High School. Though her transfer into the school in her sophomore year was challenging, she tried to catch up with the work and connect with others to the best of her ability. She does salsa and hip hop outside of school hours along with taking care of her little brother. Jaylee doesn’t know what is going on most of the time but makes up for it with her work, though not right away. She is the oldest of her brothers and cousins so she tries her best to help them with everything she can.

Sarah Hoovler

Sarah Hoovler is a senior at Bloomfield High School. This is her third year on the school newspaper. She loves writing poetry and has even had her work published. Sarah is an avid reader and loves music. Her dream is to go to a good college after high school and major in music, with a minor in literature. She is excited to give the newspaper her all for her final year.

Jordan Hunter

This is a 17 year old senior at Bloomfield High School, named Jordan Kiandre Hunter. He likes to bake, cook, write, draw, and play video games. He is 5’61/2, likes sweets, hates vegetables with a passion, and likes to eat pizza. Jordan watches a lot of anime, but his favorites are Classroom of the Elite and Sword Art Online. He dreams to become a manga artist in Japan someday, so he takes art and writing classes.

Sasha Javier

Sasha Javier is a 16 year old junior at Bloomfield High School. Sasha is from Peru and speaks Spanish and English. She enjoys listening to all types of music, but not country music. She loves to buy new things and shopping online for clothes and shoes. Her favorite thing to do is hang out with her friends and family. Sasha loves animals and would like to pursue a career as a veterinarian, working with animals is her dream. She is a very family oriented person and loves spending time with her family and enjoys doing things with them.

Fritzy Jimenez

Fritzy Jimenez is a 17 year old senior at Bloomfield Her hobbies include reading and shopping online. She enjoys writing papers, poems, and ect. She believes that writing is an amazing way to express yourself without actually saying it. She thinks that music is a good way to focus and energize yourself. One of her favorite quotes is “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” - Mae West. Her dream life consists of going to university right away after graduation. She hopes to start her career early and buy a house by the time she's 25 and providing for her family.

Tara John

Tara is a Bloomfield High School senior. This would be their first year working on the school's newspaper. They are excited to work with everyone and look forward to what's to come. Tara has an interest in writing and hopes to improve their writing skills. They love music and movies, some of Tara’s favorite movies are “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. Tara feels most comfortable around their friends, and despite their awkward introverted nature they hope to open up and talk to new people!

Abigail Kern

Abigail (Abby) Kern is a junior at Bloomfield High School. She plays volleyball on the school’s team. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies and spending time with friends. Abby has a passion for writing, specifically script writing. Movies are Abby’s favorite interest, and her favorite genres are thriller, drama, horror, crime, comedy, and mystery. She hopes to become a screenwriter in the future and make the kinds of movies that do justice to the art of the craft. Her favorite place to go get food with friends is McDonald’s. If you ask anyone that knows her, they could tell you that her favorite thing to order there is the Sweet Tea.

Kasandra Mendez

Kasandra "Kasie" Mendez is a 17 year old senior at Bloomfield High School. This is her first time helping out with the school newspaper and she hopes to improve her writing skills throughout the year in journalism. She is constantly crocheting or listening to music. Her favorite artists currently are Frank Ocean and Tyler the Creator. She also enjoys baking and hanging out with friends in her spare time.

Justen Pabon

Justen Pabon is a 17 year old senior who likes to read and write. He is very passionate about things like music, cars, and sports. He likes to watch TV shows like South Park, Rick and Morty, and his favorite movies are Ted 1 and Ted 2. He is very proud of his car that he is currently working on and saving up in order to work on it and modify it. Justen is currently unsure about his next step after high school but has been focusing on finishing his final year of high school strongly.

Diana Prisco

Diana Prisco is a student in her senior year of high school at BHS. Diana’s an AP student and prioritizes school. She works multiple jobs. Her favorite job is being a daycare worker. Diana wants to pursue education for a career. She has a passion for writing and poetry. In Diana's free time she is with her friends driving without a destination or GPS. Diana’s favorite color is purple. Diana wants to go to Rutgers New Brunswick. Diana loves the beach and her favorite season is summer. Diana loves to go on Starbucks runs. She has two sisters, and she's the middle child.

Natalie Ramnarain

Natalie Ramnarain who was born on Feburary 21st, 2006 is now a 17 year old senior student at Bloomfield High School. Natalie is Puerto Rican & Guyanese. She is very shy but once you get to know her she is very compassionate and loves to listen. Natalie chose the class Journalism because of her fascination of writing and making it a way to express herself. Natalie loves to hang out with her best friend or relax and watch movies and shows. Her favorite season is winter cause she is a winter baby. Natalie has one older brother and a “baby brother” who is her dog Oreo.

Yesenia Ramos

Yesenia Ramos is a 17 year old senior at Bloomfield High School. Some of her hobbies include video editing, reading, and watching shows and movies. Her favorite books are The Deal by Elle Kennedy, Radio Silence by Alice Oseman, and It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover. She would love to pursue an editing career, where she could edit videos of different kinds. Her favorite shows/movies are The Flash, Heartstopper, and Red, White, and Royal Blue. Yesenia has very few friends but she would rather have 3 real friends rather than 100 fake ones. Yesenia’s really kind but is also really shy.

Evangeline Redding

Evangline (Eva) is a freshman at BHS and this is her first year doing journalism, but she really enjoys writing and thinks it could make this year awesome. She absolutely loves animals and swimming, and her favorite place is the beach. She loves reading, and her favorite book series is The Penderwicks. She also enjoys listening to P!NK and girl in red, and watching her favorite shows. While she enjoys writing, she also has a passion for marine biology and history, and may like to pursue a career in one of those in the future.

Francesca Salinas

Francesa Salinas is a student athlete who attends Bloomfield High School. She is in her senior year of high school. She finds joy in cheerleading and football season. She was born on April 13, 2006, and is currently 17 years old. She is the youngest sibling out of 5 kids. Francesca is very open minded and loves to try new things. She is very expressive and has strong feelings. She loves being in tune with her emotions. She might come off aggressive or mean, but once you get to know her she has the sweetest personality. She finds peace within her family and friends.

Ana Santos

Ana Paula Santos Candelario is a senior at Bloomfield High School. She is from Cuba, and boredom is her worst enemy. She loves reading, especially Romance, Fantasy, and Thrillers. If she is not reading, she probably has her headphones in, either listening to music or watching true crime cases on Youtube.

Ava Scollo

Ava Scollo is a 15 year old junior at Bloomfield High School. Ava is looking forward to begin looking at colleges where she will study either communications, or psychology. In her free time Ava takes ceramics courses, as well as bakes and goes out with her close friends. Ava decided to take Journalism to help improve her writing skills and get involved in her community. Ava is also apart of Bloomfield High’s peer leadership program and is loving it.

Nalani Taylor

Nalani Taylor is a seventeen year old Senior here at Bloomfield High School. She values surrounding herself with diversity, creativity, originality and authenticity. Though she enjoys being around her friends and family, she loves her time spent alone more. She has a passion for the arts ; writing, photography, dancing, singing, and instrument playing. Nalani has been around these art styles for such a long time and sees herself pursing a career in artistic expression.

Emilia Velez

Emilia Velez is a Senior in Bloomfield High School with two younger sisters. One of her sisters is a sophomore also in this school. She enjoys rock climbing, baking, eating, and binge watching Netflix. Her favorite show on Netflix right now is “The Mindy Project”. After High School she wants to go into nursing and study psychology. Her favorite subject is Anatomy and learning about the human body, which is part of why she's considering Nursing. She wants to study psychology because she also finds it interesting. On the other hand, she hates math because she struggles the most with it.

Isabella Villada

Isabella Villada is a Bloomfield High School student in her senior year. She has always enjoyed writing and journalism because it’s easier for her to express her emotions on paper. She is an 18 year old who works at a medical and esthetician spa, and enjoys everything about the medical field. She is Colombian and American, she is very attached to her culture and enjoys traveling. She has a brother who is now in college who is very important in her life, and has been with her throughout her entire life. She enjoys her time with her family and cherishes her time with friends.

Faraz Zamdin

Faraz Zamdin is a Junior at Bloomfield High School. He was born on the 31st of March 2007 . He is an Aries and people say his attitude reflects that. This is his second year taking journalism and he is super excited to be back. Faraz dreams of going to Montclair State University. He wants to be a history teacher to give back to the community. He loves any music from the Caribbean and West Indies. He also loves K-pop and many international dramas. He loves his culture and learning about different cultures. He hopes for a great year in Journalism!
