We may have driven her nuts but she is truly one of the kindest sweetest people I know.

She always makes sure everyone understands and has a good time in her class.

Although we were online for virtual classes, he was a better teacher than any other teacher I’ve ever had at Bloomfield High School. Mr. Touhey treated us all equally and showed how much he cared for us. I’m going to miss him.

The school year is almost over. That means for us seniors, this is the last time we’ll be attending Bloomfield High School and seeing you. Thinking about it makes me sad but also happy. When I started my freshman year, I only wanted to join for the fun field trips. But after the four years I've had to attend French class, I learned that your class was much more than that. You’ve made my experience much more enjoyable and fun while also teaching me everything there is to know about French. Every time I had a question or struggled to understand a lesson you were teaching, you were always there to help me whether you were in person or at home taking care of your loved ones. That is true dedication and responsibility. And I want to thank you for that, Madam. Thank you for always being there, and thank you for being my French teacher for three years. I will truly miss you.

Thank you for continuing to be an outstanding educator regardless of any adversity. Your teaching is nothing short of unconditional and empowering, for you exercise your passions with a grace and dignity that is desperately needed in this community. As someone that struggled heavily throughout my junior year, I constantly felt like I owed a debt to those around me, like my bad habits and failures were burdens that left a trail of disappointment everywhere I went. That feeling of dread would dissipate each time I entered your classroom, for I felt secure in knowing you expected nothing of me. Not that you didn't believe in me, because you did. You believed in me on days I found it hard to believe in myself. What I mean is that not once did you pressure me to become someone I'm not. Never did you expect me to put my emotions aside and prioritize school over health. Instead, you taught me to work at my own pace and thus more efficiently. You never once censored my heart or character; you provided a space for me to embrace both flaws and talents. Because of you, I am less afraid of my future. I know that I will continue to find myself in funks of laziness and lack of motivation, and that some days I'll find it easier to sink into the covers instead of making it to the classroom. Despite this, I know that I am deserving of success regardless of obstacles I have faced and will face. Once again, thank you for your kindness, and thank you for your generosity. Thank you for not only being my teacher, but for also practicing empathy throughout your career. Above all, thank you for being in the right place at the right time.
