ADVICE FROM MS. KEISHA'S DESK
A reader asked: Miss Keisha, Club Fair is over and I've signed up for some clubs, but I'd like to be involved more and maybe join another since I found I have more free time, is there a way for me to find out more about all of the clubs?
Involvement in clubs or school activities sounds amazing! To find out more about this, email your school counselor to ask for a list of the clubs and the teachers organizing them. You can even find them on the BHS School Website! Then, you’ll be set for your first meeting. Try to match your interests with the clubs you join to have more fun and meet new people hun!

A reader asked: Hey! It feels one of my friends have been giving me the cold shoulder. I’m not good with confrontation and I have really bad anxiety. How do I fix this?
Hey luv, even though you may have bad anxiety and hate confrontation I feel it’s best if you step out your comfort zone and face it head on. The longer you wait the worse the situation might get. If you don’t want to talk to them face to face, try texting them. I wish you the best of luck.

A reader asked: What are some ways to calm down from an anxiety attack?
Hey luv, as someone who also suffers from panic/ anxiety attacks here are some tips that worked for me that might help you out. First is the most common thing people might say which is try to control your breathing. Take 5-6 deep breaths in and out to calm your nerves a bit. Next is the 2-4-6 method: 2 things you can hear, 4 things you can touch, and 6 things you can see. Try to have something to drink either during or after the attack. Music also helps me a lot so try to listen to a song or songs you really like. Try those out first and let me know if they work for you. Much love!

A reader asked: Hey Miss Keisha, after my break up, I’ve been looking for someone to get to know since it’s been about a year. Since it was such a bad relationship with an even worse outcome, how do you suggest I get back out there?
Hey Dear, I'm sorry to hear about your tough breakup, but it's great that you're ready to put yourself out there again. When it comes to getting back into the dating scene after a rough relationship, take your time and focus on yourself first. Remember, it's all about finding someone who respects and values you. Don't rush into anything; take it at your own pace. And most importantly, have fun getting to know new people and enjoy the journey of finding someone special! My first recommendation for getting back out there is to Join clubs, sports teams, or any extracurricular activities that interest you. It's a great way to meet people who share similar interests and passions. Another idea is to attend school events like dances, football games, or even study groups. These are perfect opportunities to casually interact with new people. Also you could meet someone through mutual friends. Let your friends know you're open to meeting new people. They might know someone who's a great match for you. It could also be more natural that way versus if you feel like you might throw yourself at someone randomly. The key is to take things at your own pace and not rush into anything. Focus on building genuine connections and having fun. The right person will come along when the time is right. Enjoy the process and stay true to yourself!
