Following valuable feedback from our student voice survey last year, we implemented a revised Behaviour for Learning Policy and I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support with this.
We are delighted to share some key highlights and achievements from the policy's implementation this module, particularly with our rewards system.
We have introduced several new awards designed to celebrate students who consistently demonstrate outstanding commitment to our values and community.
Hot Chocolate with the Principal
This special, fortnightly event invites students who have excellent attendance and demonstration of our values for an informal celebration.
Three students from each College and LAB 16 with the highest number of merits, 100% attendance, and no late marks are invited to share a hot chocolate with the Principal. So far thirty six students have been invited and this will continue on a fortnightly basis every module.
The Bronze Award
This is our first major milestone award, recognising students who maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, and demonstration of our values. We are incredibly proud of the dedication shown by our students and at the time of writing, 75 students currently meet the criteria for a Bronze Award, with a further 30 students on track to receive the award by the end of Module 2.
To achieve the Bronze Award, students must have:
96+ attendance
100+ Merits
No more than 3 late marks
Fewer than 20 demerits
No supervisions, suspensions, or directions off-site.
Students who do not receive the Bronze Award in this module can continue to work towards it and we will have another major celebration opportunity for students who gain the award at the end of Module 4. Importantly, the criteria will remain the same, but attendance will be reset at the start of Module 3.
Students who successfully achieve the Bronze Award in this module will automatically be able to progress toward the next level of recognition, the Silver Award, at the end of Module 4.
To earn the Silver Award, students must:
Have previously achieved the Bronze Award.
Meet the same high standards of 200+ Merits, 96+ attendance, no more than 3 late marks, fewer than 20 demerits, and no supervisions, suspensions or directions off-site.
Thank you again for partnering with us to emphasise the importance of attendance, punctuality and demonstrating our values. Your support at home makes all the difference in these achievements.
