EAL Coffee Morning – How to Help at Home
On March 8th, our Primary EAL team hosted a parents' coffee morning entitled 'How to Help at Home' at the EY&I campus. Welcome over 60 parents and family members, the event emphasised the importance of the home-school partnerships, the value of first language, and how to develop reading, speaking and writing skills at home in a fun and low-stress way. Additionally, three of our Year 12 EAL alumni joined the event and shared their experience in a video on how EAL in primary school helped them achieve success. Overall, it was an informative event that provided valuable insights into how parents can contribute to their children's academic journey.

Thank you to those parents who were able to join us for our recent events for parents: EAL Open Morning. The event featured a presentation from the EAL Team to inform parents about the EAL programme at BIS and some practical advice to support your child's learning at home. We were delighted with the turnout and the amount of goodwill shown by parents as we built the home-school partnership. You can view the slides and the video of the presentation below.
