COVID-19 Information

What does Covid-19 mean for us at BIS HCMC?

We are incredibly lucky to be working and living in this wonderful country, Vietnam, and thanks to a combined approach from authorities and all communities within the country, we have had very little disruption to our daily lives when compared to other regions around the world.

However, all too often, we see and hear our children talk about Covid-19 without a deep understanding of what the implications are for us here in Vietnam, and indeed us as a school community. To aid with understanding, both the EYIC and Junior Campus have put together a short informative video which we urge you to watch as a family, and then take time to discuss the importance of speaking factually. Whilst this pandemic is causing a great deal of anxiety across the world, we need to be mindful that there is no need to panic, and of that we must keep the safety and wellbeing of the BIS HCMC Community at the forefront of our thinking. Please do take note of the posters below, both from school and the WHO, and also the video shown further below which gives children a good understanding of what Covid-19 is all about.

Thanks to the hard work of pharmaceutical companies around the world in providing credible vaccines, and the foresight of the Government of Vietnam to purchase a large amount of a number of vaccine varieties, a rollout of these will begin to take place over the first half of 2021. If you did not see Mr Anthony's email about the vaccine sign-up here in HCMC, then use the link here to register the adults in your family: https://vax.vnvc.vn/
