So, you’ve reached Sixth Form – well done! The next two years are very important, shaping both what you learn and who you become as a global citizen. The jump from GCSEs to A-levels, university applications, and being at the top of the school can be overwhelming. However, with the right mindset, you can achieve anything.
Because A-levels aren’t tests you can pull off at the last minute, learning to manage time becomes key. Having a study schedule and being able to manage your time between studying, supercurricular activities, and, most importantly, doing what you love is a crucial skill. Getting organised is more than just schoolwork; it builds habits that stick with you, skills you’ll utilise long after graduation.
Opportunities really open up once you join Sixth Form. You can aim for top roles – think leading your House, becoming Head Boy or Girl, joining the Student Leadership Group, or training as a Peer Listener, among other possibilities. Taking on these roles gives countless opportunities to grow, sharpening how you think, lead others, collaborate, and analyse situations.
Our amazing sixth form has an incredibly skilled, caring, and approachable team, including our tutors, Ms Damaree, Mr Aw Musse, Mr Hind, and Miss Hassan. They’re there to smooth the way with studies, help you whenever you need it, and prepare you for the next step in your life.
It sounds simple, but definitely expect challenges. Push through, reach out for help, and never give up. But, most importantly, enjoy it! Take charge, pursue what excites you, enjoy being the oldest, and enjoy your last 2 years of school. Welcome to the Sixth Form.
