The Middle School North Art Program is looking for serious students like you to join and grow in both skill and confidence. MSN Art has many things to offer so please consider:
· Fun contests for the competitive.
· Amazing community art shows.
· Art Club, an after school program that creates art to auction for local charities.
Art is not just a fun class. It is a place where you will be part of an artist community, create new things, and learn about how art influences our world. You will be encouraged daily to practice skills that will help you grow as an artist.
This class is for students who are serious about learning the foundations of art. Students will learn about various artists, art history, and the elements of art and principles of design. Students will learn through teacher demonstrations, cooperative learning and independent practice during art production. Students will create 2-D and 3-D art using a variety of media. Students will work in traditional drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and computer graphics. This program promotes independence as students use thinking skills, exploratory learning, and self-initiated research to help pave their way into becoming advanced artists.
Advanced Art is for students who have taken Beginner Art and Applied Art previously and have demonstrated continuous hard work and dedication to their artwork. Students will also work in traditional drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, computer graphics and other unique opportunities in self-expression. This program promotes independence as student’s use thinking skills, exploratory learning, and self-initiated research to help pave their way into becoming advanced level artists. At the end of this course all students will have the opportunity to submit a portfolio for high school review and possibly be accepted into the AP art program.
