I wonder what heaven looks like
They say God is indescribable
Beyond the comprehension
Of human minds
And far beyond their ability to
Describe with words
Is that the same for heaven?
Heaven is depicted as
A simple empty space above the clouds
And I wonder why
Who came up with that and put it in the movies
We’ve been above the clouds
And heaven wasn’t there
The heaven in the movies is the easiest landscape to draw
Aside from maybe the moon
Blue and white. Done.
I bet it's infinitely complex
Pillars constructed of billions of stars
Spiraling up to unimaginable heights
Waterfalls
Mountains
How many times can your mind be blown by a sight?
Once you see it do you ever get used to it?
Or over time does it get more and more amazing
So that you are constantly amazed?
Do you look down at earth and think it’s boring?
Beaches with crystal clear water that turns to
A brilliant Aqua in the distance
Flowers with petals of colors too beautiful for earth
Who am I to try to describe it?
I’ve never been there
And what good is a description of something unimaginable?
The whole point is of describing is to fuel the imagination
We might as well think of it as a blue sky and a cloudy floor
Or the black and white mess of stars at the beginning of
“It’s a Wonderful Life”
I guess the point of that movie
Is to show that life is wonderful
Not after life
Who cares what that looks like
When we have this
