The wind howls as we walk.
Knocking over the snow piles that kids spent hours building.
Work destroyed.
Lives gone.
Could you imagine living that life?
The life of someone who struggles to talk to others
Who can’t keep a conversation even with their dog.
The quiet kid on the corner comes out to stay
Silent.
Dogs snarl and cats crawl around the beaten house
No one cares enough to help it
All it does it just sit on the broken cement
Waiting for someone to help it.
Cops roll bye going to their calls that actually
Don't need the attention.
Instead they could come help
All it takes is just for one person
Just like it used to be with someone
They would come and help and be ok with being late for work
As long as they got the help they needed.
They were decent
We were decent.
Like the trash on the ground floating in the wind
Roaming again. Waiting to be picked up
By a good samaritan.
Someone who knows that this isn't there job
But they'll do it anyway.
My route to school has this one intersection
Where there is a homeless family
On the corner.
Holding their sign, begging for food and money.
He has his 2 kids playing and jumping around him
Not knowing what type of situation they are in.
Then across the way
There is someone else in a wheelchair
And their dog crawling and sniffing around the
dead grass that they are sitting on.
No one knows what goes on
In anyone's heads.
Maybe everyone is faking it and
I am the only real one on the Earth.
That's the thing. No one knows.
