The SLC greenhouse has a permit with the NYSDEC to legally own and care for our turtles for educational purposes. GHSL and gardening club students work directly with all three turtles in care for their well being.

Feefi - Our male axolotl with a genetic mutation that results in a lack of melanin, giving it a pinkish-white body, red or pink eyes, and bright red gills.
Fofum - Our female axolotl has colours true to wild type axolotls though there is lots of natural variations in the brown mottle appearance.

New to the 2025-2026 school year the greenhouse is home to 8 layer hens. These chickens are the results of 2 years of research, hands-on labor, and dedication by the HS Conservation class and our GHSL students.
