Courtyard Garden

We Won!

We just won a #BuddingBotanist grant from @KloraneUSA and @KidsGardening.org! With the funding, we will be installing a garden in the high school courtyard.

The Conservation Class is planning out where the raised beds should go:

Cleaning the Courtyard

Measuring space for raised beds

Outlining where the raised beds will be

Greenhouse club members Ashton Tassie and Rebekah Dibble created a thank you video for the Budding Botanist Grant:

Mr. Newtown's Woodworkers built us raised bed boxes out of cedar wood:

The boxes are each 3'x8' with a 36" aisle between them.

Cedar was chosen because it lasts without chemicals

The Greenhouse club planted seeds for garden. The seeds were purchased from Johnnys Selected Seeds and chosen because they are open pollinated which means we can hopefully collect our own seeds for the future.

The Conservation class leveled and set the boxes in place and filled them with soil.

Greenhouse Club Planted carrots, onions, parsnips, sugar snap peas and peppers.
