Week 14: 11/6
Monday -
In Class: Introduction to Ch.15 "Water & Acqueous Systems". We explored the question "Why is Water so Special?" Started mind-mapping the properties and uses of water. Defined Surface Tension and Wetness in Notes. Identified that "Hydrogen Bonds" are the root cause of water being so special.
Homework: Read Ch.15.1
Tuesday -
In Class: Completed Ch.15.1 Lesson Check Questions. Notes/Discussion on Hydrogen Bonds. Watched a youtube clip on hydrogen bonds.
Homework: Define all terms in Ch.15 (that we haven't covered in class)
Wednesday/Thursday -
In Class: Partners/Groups worked on "The density of freezing salt water" packet AND "Compare intermolecular forces in fresh and salt water" packet. Went over various surface tension, density, salinity, oxygenation and temperature relationships. Watched a video clip on dry water and answered water-related questions from students using video clips.
Homework: Ch. 15.1 Lesson Check Questions
7th Period (Thursday)
In Class: Partners/Groups finished "The density of freezing salt water" packet AND "Compare intermolecular forces in fresh and salt water" packet. Went over various surface tension, density, salinity, oxygenation and temperature relationships. Watched a video clip on dry water.
