week of 8/7

Announcements for this Week:

• Please be mindful of dress code- dresses and shorts should be no shorter than two inches above the knees for girls and boys.

• This week begins health screenings! We are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, but this could change. Please try to have your child in school for that part of the day if possible! 

• Poems will be going home on Monday. Please take a few minutes to go over these with your child and pick a poem that fits their level. This is an at-home project, and students will be responsible to memorize it and present it to the class on the due date on the packet. 

• PowerSchool will have your child's first grades on Wednesday. Please keep in mind that this is just one grade, and the first grade of the year can sometimes be a bit lower than your child may be used to getting as the expectations of third grade are high and it's their first grade of the year. If that grade is lower than expected, remind your child to have a growth mindset! There's still so many weeks left of the quarter to continue to work on that area!

• Friday folders will be going home this coming week. Please look through the folder,  empty out the papers, sign any papers with a grade of D or F and return those tests ONLY to school on Monday. Please also sign the folder acknowledging that you saw the papers inside and return that folder on Monday as well. This helps you to go over the grades your child has earned.
