Alsace is in eastern France, bordering Germany. Many of its villages look like real-life gingerbread villages, complete with real storks that build nests--and live!--on the rooftops. This area of France is known for its beautiful villages, its vineyards and wine, its amazing food (bretzels-- no, that is not a typo, tarte flambée, choucroute, Bäckeoffe, Kugelhopf...to name a few), its own language, and its world-famous Christmas markets. I keep returning to this corner of France because it is so incredibly charming!

Check out my favorite spot in Alsace, the small village of Colmar:
Another beautiful village is Riquewihr, much smaller than Colmar but just as beautiful:
If you love all things Christmas, you will absolutely the Strasbourg Christmas market, which is one of the best in France! (Colmar also has an amazing one as well, but let's stay focused!) Check out these two videos on the world famous Strasbourg Christmas market: the first one (on the left) is a quick visual of the market and the second one (on the right) focuses on the food...
La Route des Vins in Alsace is a beautiful drive you can do past several Alsatian vineyards and villages. Here is a quick peek:

And last but not least, check out storks of Alsace!
