Mockumentary | In Progress

This is a project that I'm currently co-directing.

The Mockumentary is about our mutual friend's, "Thomo", music career. The film revolves around 'The Free Radicals' (his current band) and how tension increases within the band due to conflict with Thomo's previous band, the toxic influence of Colonel H and his sudden change to hip-hop.

We're looking at a current run-time of 30-40 minutes.

We set the project as a mockumentary as the final script turned out quite different from real life. For example, 'Thomo' is a made up character who is played by Tom Saxton, there is no tension between 'The Free Radicals' and his previous band and Colonel H is a fictional character. We also named it a mockumentary as we wanted to harness the style and approaches of documentary films, along with the juxtaposition between verite and manipulative styles.

Tom's character is influenced a lot off Joaquin Phoenix from 'I'm Still Here' especially his appearance.

A lot of influences were taken from the Bob Dylan documentary 'Don't Look Back' as it focuses on the world within music and media representation.
