"If you are able to have the GSI known as Jeffrey Kuan, go for it. He’s amazing. " - Ian, Team Emerald
"Take a bunch of practice midterms and do a bunch of practice problems " - Kevin, Team Diamond
"Math 1B is not necessarily difficult, so take it with someone who will not over complicate the subject (perhaps Alexander Paulin). " - Yailin, Team Sapphire
"Went better than Math 1A for me because I had more background with Berkeley math. Not bad at all. " - Jacky, Team Ruby
"Do a lot of practice and head to lectures/office hours" - Alex, Team Ruby
"Favorite class my second semester. No joke! People may say its the most failed class in Berkeley, but it's honestly one of the best mathematics classes I have ever taken. I genuinely loved it. A big thank you to Paulin, Kinney, and my GSI. They helped me understand the material. Use your resources wisely and you'll be able to succeed. :)) " - Carolina, Team Diamond
"You can never practice too much, reading the book definitely helps. Also, if you feel super confident in your calculus AB skills, I'd recommend going straight to 1B; you're immediately immersed into new material, and not that much AB material carries over into 1B. If you're unsure of your AB/BC skills, I'd also recommend going to both 1A and 1B lectures during the first week(s) and see which class is more your speed. If you can, I highly recommend Jonathan Liu as a GSI. " - Tyler, Team Ruby
"Don't take 1B lightly, its a tough class! " - Julian, Team Ruby
"Although Math 1B has a reputation to be really hard, I honestly thought Math 1A was harder. " - Arianna, Team Sapphire
"Math 1B is a lot trickier than Math 1A in my opinion. Make sure to list everything cleanly and separately as there will be many ways to do a certain task in this class. " - Christian, Team Ruby
"Take the adjunct course with the class! It’s really helpful " - Cristian, Team Ruby
"Continuation of integration is pretty much the hardest part of the course. Series and Differential Equations become easy. Don't be scared of Taylor series, go in with the mindset that they are easy and you will begin to see the difference in your studies. " - Alex, Team Ruby
"Very fair since studying practice exams and finals Prepared you well for the actual tests. 1B was a continuation to high school AP calculus with a little extra so it was a great refresher on limits and series. " - Daniel, Team Ruby
"Lectures, homework, discussions ALL felt meaningful in helping me prepare for the exams! " - Chernelle, Team Emerald
"For this class, in general, I found it really helpful to join the adjunct course as it was an additional learning as well as practice resource that really helps prepare you for upcoming tests. I personally really loved this class because I liked the new material we were introduced to and started to see it begin to apply in other related courses. " - Valeria, Team Ruby
