"A little tough compared to high school of course but put in the work and you'll do fine. Don't slack and think you know it all." - Jacky, Team Ruby
"It’s not as hard as everyone makes it out to be " - Ethelbert, Team Emerald
"Fair class. I highly recommend focusing on doing multiple rounds of practice exams in preparation for the exams." - Natalie, Team Diamond
"The GSI is everything, but still a very fair class " - Kaye, Team Ruby
"GSI can make it or break it. " - Ian, Team Emerald
"The downside is for quizzes everyone had different quizzes depending on your GSI and honestly some always seemed tougher than others." - Athena, Team Diamond
"Fast paced" - Uriel, Team Ruby
"Concepts that may have been learned in high school with AP Calculus AB may help, but Berkeley Mathematics does not compare to anything seen in high school. Do your homework, go to office hours if you need help (Paulin's or a GSI's), and ask your peers for help! Oh, and go to Deep Dives with Chris Kinney!! You'll love him! " - Carolina, Team Diamond
"If you have no prior calculus experience, this class is somewhat difficult. " - Arianna, Team Sapphire
"Lectures, homework, discussions ALL felt meaningful in helping me prepare for the exams! " - Chernelle, Team Emerald
"As long as you practice the concepts often, you should pass with flying colors! " - Christian, Team Ruby
"The adjunct class for math is really helpful, I highly recommend it! " - Cristian, Team Ruby
"Sign up for an adjunct !!! It a lot of work but it well worth it especially if you’re coming in with minimal calculus experience. I took Calc AB in high school for reference. " - Farhiya, Team Sapphire
"Taking this class was definitely beneficial for a smoother transition to Math 1B. Also, take the adjunct classes; I didn't take one for Math 1A but did for Math 1B and it was incredibly helpful! " - Shotaro, Team Diamond
"The pace of the class was a little slow. The exams were not worth a lot of points and they weren't that difficult if you studied or looked over some homework problems and worked them out. Typically on each problem of her exams you were tested on various topics learned in lecture. I will say 2 big downfalls of the class were that not enough material was covered to prepare me for Math 1B and that the exams were not out of a lot of points. The first exam had 5 problems and was worth 20 points. The second exam was 5 problems and worth 50 points. The ups of the class was that the pace was slow-ish which allows enough room for you to learn the material better for the topics that were covered in class. " - Ofelia, Team Ruby
