For the latest updates on the evolving COVID-19 policies and resources for the campus community
After your phone interview, you will receive a welcome email in 3-5 business days.
This is the 'Welcome Email' that our onboarding team refers to when you complete your onboarding process.
It is important that you complete your DocuSign packet and I-9 Verification as soon as possible, as any delays in processing afterward may affect your start date if they are not completed on time.
After the welcome email, the student employee will be sent a DocuSign packet via email from the following email: bears_onboarding@berkeley.edu. (Check your spam if you have not received it.)
It is critical that you complete your DocuSign packet as soon as you receive it so our Onboarding department can initiate your hiring information in our HR system.
The student employee will also receive an email from employment.authorization@universityofcalifornia.edu containing your I-9 verification. (Check your spam if you have not received it.)
Please refer to I-9 Acceptable Documents to complete your I-9 Verification.
Section 1: Employee Information & Attestation
Providing SSN is optional.
Section 2: Employer Review & Verification
Via Authorized Representative (AR):
The employee can designate anyone who is over 18+ years old as their AR (e.g. family member, roommate, friends, etc.) to complete section 2. Your AR must complete Section 2 by physically examining evidence of the employee's identity and employment authorization.
Your AR will receive an email from employment.authorization@universityofcalifornia.edu (it may also come from i9complete@trackercorp.com). The email will include detailed instructions on actions they need to take in order to complete the verification.
A student employee is required to complete Background checks if they handle or have access to cash or personally identifiable information. Especially, student workers whose home unit is Campus Restaurants (Golden Bear Café, Brown's, Eateries) are required to complete Background checks.
A separate Docusign packet will be sent to the employee who is required to complete Background check via email.
Full details about how to schedule a fingerprinting appointment at a location convenient for the applicant will be included in the DocuSign packet of new employee paperwork as part of the Onboarding process.
Once your onboarding process is finished, we will reach out to you with further steps in your training.
