Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Can parents keep their children and family in NYC and extend their vacation?
Yes, this is okay. There will be a strict pick-up window after the boat cruise on Thursday so that the coach can depart New York on time. Students would be opting out of the coach ride home (and there isn’t a discount for that—so that’s something to keep in mind)
2. Can parents purchase tickets to be on the ship to see the concert?
Yes, as long as the Intrepid has the inventory.
3. Is there a parent package, where parents could for example book a room at the Sheraton with us, or purchase tickets along with us for shows? Just wondering if an a la carte option is there.
No, parents cannot purchase a la carte tickets and activities if they are not a registered student on the trip.
4. There is a 51 person cap on the trip as of October 9th (one tour bus). What happens if there is a waitlist after the 51 students are registered?
We will work our hardest to find a solution for this, but it is not guaranteed that more than 51 students will be able to register for this trip.
5. Can my roommate group & friends walk around NYC by ourselves?
In just a few very short instances, yes. Otherwise, we will be walking as a large group in all parts of our tour. If you are expecting to be able to have tons of free time in the city on this trip, this is not the tour for you.
6. This price includes quad rooms (4). Can my friends and I opt for a triple or a double?
Yes, for an added cost. Please email Judy Chipman about that after you register so that she will update your price for the trip in your account. Jchipman@bobrogerstravel.com
7. Are all meals included?
Yes, except for the meals in transit (Monday morning bus to NYC, Thursday afternoon bus to Belmont).
8. How much spending money should I bring with me?
You won't be required to purchase anything in NYC, so if you wish, $150-$500 is recommended for souvenirs, depending on your shopping preferences.
9. How will security work?
We have a nighttime security guard in our hotel, watching our specific block of rooms. If your hotel door opens after lights out, the security guard will knock on Ms. Lacasse's door and share what the situation was. At no point are students to leave their hotel room after lights out or before breakfast.
10. What about discipline infractions on the trip?
Students will be asked to sign a lengthy discipline contract. If there is a behavior problem, the student's parents will be called (even in the middle of the night) and asked to fund their child's trip home to Belmont effective immediately.
