Percussion group

The percussion group is offered for students who are at a higher level of learning. Here, they get to expand their abilities to listen to each other within the group and play challenging rhythm combinations while staying in time and also being sensitive to dynamic changes in the music. The music is played on marimba, xylophone, glockenspiel, shakers, cajon and timpani, and the group participates in several concerts.

The percussion group rehearses on Thursday mornings 7.30-8.30 starting in TERM 2. Please contact Ms. Piper hpiper@belmontint.school.nz if you are interested in joining. You may join at any time during the year, however you commit to the group once you have joined and are expected to participate in all rehearsals and performances.
