Detailed Objective
Students will be able to design and create a virtual moonscape using KODU Game Lab, demonstrating their understanding of lunar terrain features, space exploration concepts, and basic coding principles. By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
Identify key features of the lunar surface, such as craters, rocks, dust, and uneven terrain, integrating them accurately into their virtual moonscape.
Apply basic coding concepts to program character movements and interactions within the KODU environment, reflecting scenarios related to space exploration.
Collaborate and communicate with peers to share ideas, give feedback, and refine their virtual moonscapes, enhancing both their technical and interpersonal skills.
Present and explain their created moonscapes, articulating the incorporation of lunar features and the coding principles used, to demonstrate comprehension and creativity.
Through this hands-on activity, students will not only enhance their understanding of the moon's landscape and space exploration but also develop foundational skills in coding and game design, fostering their STEM learning experiences.
