Over the year I explored how women have a dependant on mother earth and nature in order to grow. I explored the relationship between the life cycle of women and the earth. I used natural materials such as moss and wood to reflect the connection between the two. By incorporating these different elements I was able to show a bond between both women and nature. The natural materials gave my pieces a unique texture that is only visible in nature. The fact that these are 3D pieces helped me to further explore my investigation. I used many different sculpting techniques
Through my project, I was able to use art to tell a story and show the bonds between women and nature. I wanted to focus on the delicacy of that bond and show how it is used for growth and strength. I was able to explore gender identity and the human figure in my pieces and show what kind of roles nature plays in not only physical by mental growth.
