In Reception one of our specific areas of learning is 'Understanding the World'. Geography skills underpin this area as we learn to explore our natural world and draw similarities and differences between life in this country and life in another country. This Module we have linked our central idea 'Improving our communication skills helps us to express ourselves better and understand others' to Geography skills through exploring communication similarities and differences with our country and others around the world. We have loved learning how to say hello in many different languages and have even been practising using these when answering our register each day!

As well as learning how to say hello in many different languages, we also enjoyed creating flags for the countries we learnt about. We all shared flags to represent the different countries that we came from. It was so fascinating to learn about the many different countries that our families were from in Sissinghurst and Scotney classes.
