It has been another incredible week of learning! In our Inquiry lessons, we have been busy comparing the past and the present by exploring the Nile in Ancient Egypt, the Yellow River during the Shang Dynasty, and the modern-day Rhine River in Europe; we created detailed timelines for all three, identifying their physical and human features and using our key concepts to explore the Function of these rivers and the Causation behind how human actions lead to both intended and unintended consequences. In Maths, we had so much fun exploring length and perimeter by getting hands-on with our measuring skills; we spent time measuring all sorts of objects around our classroom and even measured each other to see how tall we are! In Art, we have been busy preparing beautiful colour wash backgrounds, which are now ready to be brought to life with our Tin Forest artwork; these will look fantastic paired with the brilliant descriptive writing pieces we produced at the start of the module. We also finalised our persuasive speeches on farming and deforestation, making sure to pack them with powerful features and language to really hook our audience! Over in PE, we had a blast in dance and practiced our skills as defenders and attackers in hockey, while in RE, we continued exploring the differences between religious and non-religious celebrations. Our Spanish knowledge was put to the test with some fast-paced animal quizzes, and in Music, we have started learning the lyrics and rhythm to our new song, 'Fly with the Stars'. It’s been a week full of creativity, deep thinking, and teamwork—well done to all our superstars!
