Year 2 have had a very busy week, showing enthusiasm and curiosity across the curriculum. In English, the children used a video stimulus to inspire their writing. They focused on using carefully chosen nouns and adjectives to describe the flying turtle, thinking in detail about its appearance and movements. The quality of vocabulary and imagination on display was impressive, with pupils taking pride in developing their descriptive writing skills.
In maths, we continued to build upon our understanding of multiplication and division, with a particular focus on the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. The children explored these through practical examples, helping them to make clear connections between counting, grouping and problem-solving.
Inquiry lessons were especially creative, as pupils used their knowledge of materials and their properties to design and build a sledge for Captain Frost. The children thoughtfully considered which materials would be most suitable to ensure his lunch stayed safe.
In RE, we learned about the mezuzah and discussed why it is important in Jewish homes. In PSHE, the focus was on positive relationships and what it means to be a good friend.
What a super week Year 2!
