Dear Parents and Carers,
On Monday, 19th January, some of our fellow students traveled to the O2 for the Young Voices, where we got to sing to a lovely audience in a packed, energetic, and colossal stadium.
We interviewed some of the performers to give you a review of what the experience was like. They were all bouncing in their seats on the way there, and they all said they would love to go again to sing for the people of London.
First up, we spoke to Alisa, who said: “I really enjoyed it! We had tons of fun and there were loads of sound effects. We even had dance moves to go with the music.”
Next, Maame shared: “I liked how we had the dancers and upbeat music. There were many other schools that we sang with. I loved having different songs to dance and sing to.”
Amelia added: “It was tiring but it was fun! We rehearsed for two hours, and the songs were really exciting to sing.”
Finally, Izzy stated: “It was an amazing experience and really good. We were all jumping with joy—especially me! I would totally do it again. The only downside was that it was very hot because of the crowds. Everyone was jumping out of their seats. We were all tired afterward, but overall it was fun and I would definitely do it again.”
From the pupils' point of view, the O2 was a massive success. It is a great place to visit to enjoy the pupils' singing for a spectacular hour and a half!
Thank you to all of the staff who gave up their time to take us on the day, but also to Mrs Leid and Miss Kimber for preparing us so well in the club.

Michaela’s Squash Success!
We’re delighted to celebrate Michaela, who attends a local squash club and, just after Christmas, received a special award from her coaches for Most Improved Junior Player in her very first year of playing the sport. This fantastic achievement reflects her dedication and hard work, and to mark the occasion, Michaela’s name will be etched onto the club trophy.
Congratulations, Michaela—we’re very proud of you!
On Saturday, Aria and Sofia proudly represented their team at their very first cheerleading competition, Future Cheer Essentials, held at Essex Sports Arena. Their age group competes for a grade rather than against other teams, and the girls achieved an impressive ‘Excellent’—an outstanding result for a debut competition.
This achievement means they will now move up to a higher level for their next competition in June. Aria and Sofia delivered a fantastic routine, with all lifts performed confidently and smoothly. After months of hard work and dedication, we are incredibly proud of their success and look forward to cheering them on in their next challenge.
We are pleased to share that Freya recently competed in her first regional cheerleading competition of the season with her team, Mavericks Cheerleaders. In an outstanding performance, Freya and her team were awarded 1st place, achieving the highest score in their age division.
This is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to Freya’s hard work, dedication, and team spirit. We are extremely proud of her and look forward to hearing about more successes as the season continues.
Well done, Freya!
Arthur, Joshua, JJ and Boyan proudly play for the Bearsted Rovers Under 9s football team, and we are delighted to celebrate their fantastic recent achievement.
Before Christmas, the team took part in a Winter Festival tournament held over several weeks. Competing against eight teams, Bearsted Rovers delivered an outstanding performance — winning seven matches and drawing one, remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament. This incredible run saw them finish top of their league and be crowned festival winners.
Their coach summed up the achievement perfectly:
“Not only did we win our league, but out of all the teams in all divisions we achieved:
– Most points (out of all 64 teams)
– Most wins
– Fewest losses (zero)
This shows just how well the team really did. Showing great concentration and intensity in all eight games is very impressive!” 💪
The boys were finally awarded their well-deserved medals last Saturday. A photo of the team is attached — a wonderful moment celebrating their hard work, teamwork and success.
Well done, Bearsted Rovers U9s! ⚽🎉
