Reception

This week in Reception we have thoroughly enjoyed investigating the patterns of seasonal change. Inspired by the book ‘Tree’ by Britta Teckentrup we have been decorating our own leaf and tree pictures using a variety of colours, materials and textures. 

We have explored how human clothing and accessories change to suit the different weather each season brings, with the dressing up, paper dolls and craft areas being a particular hive of activity this week. The children are excitedly observing the trees outside for upcoming signs of spring as we all cross our fingers for a change in the weather! 

We have introduced tricky word 'into' along with the phonemes 'z' and 'zz' which has inspired a playdough pizza parlour. In Maths, we have been learning to recognise and order numbers 6, 7 and 8 which has been meme-tastic, as you can imagine!
