This week in Year 3, we have had so much fun celebrating the end of our module! In PSHE, we used drama to explore different scenarios about how to keep safe and who we can talk to if we need help. In art, we created our very own cave paintings, using a colour wash and charcoal to recreate the textures and tones of Stone Age artwork. In maths, we enjoyed a lively revision lesson on odd and even numbers, using Base 10 to build and compare numbers. We even took our learning outdoors for an odd and even relay, choosing numbers for our teams and playing a dice game to decide whether each number was odd or even!
During PE, we practised our listening skills in a fun partner activity where one person made sounds for their partner to follow — with their eyes closed! It really tested our concentration and teamwork. To finish the week, we opened our Parisian Café! The children prepared and enjoyed balanced meals containing protein, carbohydrates, dairy and fruit or vegetables — and even practised paying for their creations using “exercise” as currency. The highlight of the day was a special visit from Madame Pamplemousse herself in Oldbury Hill!
