This week, Year One have been amazing in continuing our learning on basic addition by exploring number bonds and writing simple number sentences. The children have found it a fun challenge to set out their work carefully in their books, showing great determination and pride in their learning. In Art, we’ve been exploring mark making using a range of different media such as charcoal and pastels — the children have enjoyed experimenting with textures and techniques to see the effects they can create. In History, we’ve been investigating toys from the past, asking thoughtful questions and discovering how they were made and what materials were used. The children have been fascinated by how different toys used to be compared to those we play with today. What a wonderful week of curiosity and creativity, Year One!
