Dear Parents and Carers,
As we have now completed the first module of this academic year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the truly amazing work that has been happening across the academy. It's been a period of tremendous effort and achievement by all our pupils and we couldn't be prouder of their dedication.
We've celebrated some excellent sporting and academic successes. From results in class to superb teamwork on the pitch, our pupils have shown great commitment and talent. Their enthusiasm and drive are a credit to them and we thank you for the wonderful support they receive at home.
Highlights of the final week were the celebrations of our positive reward systems recognising team collaboration through house points and individuals who have particularly glowed. The last Friday of the module saw the very first recipients of the highly coveted 'Golden Ticket'. A number of pupils were nominated by academy staff members for consistently demonstrating personal excellence every single day and/or in a singular moment of excellence.
These children joined me for an extra special treat, sharing a drink, sweet treat and a chat in the Infinity Cafe. It was a wonderful way to celebrate those pupils who not only work hard but also embody the positive attitudes and personal standards we value so highly and I personally thoroughly enjoyed my time with them.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. It makes such a difference to the children's success.
I wish all families a restful half term and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday 3rd November 2025.
Kind regards,
Mrs Tipple
We're delighted to let you know about the introduction of a new digital classroom management feature called Class Tools within Google Classroom. Our teachers will be using this feature during school hours to support and enhance your child's learning experience.
This tool has been specifically designed to help teachers manage concentration in the classroom and improve accessibility for all pupils. For instance, it includes the ability for a teacher to temporarily limit web access to help students focus on the task at hand. It also offers the option to view a pupil’s screen during a live class session, which allows teachers to provide more immediate, targeted support. Crucially, Class Tools features a live audio translation option, ensuring all pupils can participate fully in discussions and lessons.
We want to assure you that Class Tools has strict limitations to protect your child's privacy and ensure responsible use. The features are only active when pupils are connected to the controlled school network and only for the duration of a specific class session set by the teacher. Teachers cannot monitor, view screens, or restrict access when pupils are at home or using public Wi-Fi. Furthermore, pupils will always be notified when a Class Tools session is active, making the use of any monitoring features completely transparent within the classroom environment.
We firmly believe that this proportionate tool, with its clear limitations, will be a valuable asset in supporting our educational aims and safeguarding commitments. Should you have any queries about the specific data collected or your rights, please do not hesitate to contact our LAT Data Protection Officer (DPO). We welcome your questions.
Our Parents' Evenings will take place on:
Wednesday, 5th November (3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.)
Thursday, 6th November (3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
All appointments must be booked in advance via the MCAS app. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate parents and carers who arrive on the evening without a pre-booked slot to see a class teacher.
If you have not secured an appointment, please contact staff at the Academy's main office on Monday, 3rd November 2025.
As in previous years, please do not report to the academy office upon arrival. Instead, enter the premises through the Main Gate (refer to the image).
The waiting area for your appointment will be the Year 1 Milton Chantry Class.

We are delighted to share some wonderful news from the Leigh Academy Bearsted PTA! This year, the PTA has generously arranged for every child in the Academy to experience the magic of a Christmas Pantomime performance. To ensure all students can attend, performances will take place across two dates: either Wednesday, 10th December or Tuesday, 16th December. We know this will be a fantastic treat for all our students as we head into the festive season.
