Community Construction Update - May 1st

Community Construction Update

On Wednesday, May 1, Brunswick City Schools hosted a Community Construction Update event in the Student Center at Brunswick High School. With 70 around in attendance, ThenDesign Architecture and Hammond Construction provided an update on the design process, interior layout and construction timeline for the new school. Afterwards, the community participated in an exercise designed to gather input on the exterior design of the building.

The exercise, known as a “visual preference activity” included several boards where different aesthetic designs were displayed and attendees selected their preferences by placing stickers on those boards.

This activity is also available as a digital survey which will be open for several weeks. If you would like to participate in this survey, please click here.

During the presentation, ThenDesign Architecture project manager, Scott Alleman explained the layout of the new school. The building includes three main entrances which separate bus drop-off, student drivers, and parent traffic. The two-story, academic core of the building faces Center Ridge road with the auditorium and gymnasium portions on the north side of the building.
