3D Art

3D Art at Columbus East High School consists of semester long courses. Students begin taking Intro to 3D Art and advance to higher level courses. Each course is worth 1 credit towards a student's diploma.Typically Intro to 3D Art, Adv. Level II, IV, & VI courses are offered in the Fall semester with Advanced 3D Art Level I, III, V, & VII following in the Spring. Students must pass Intro to 3D Art before taking any advanced courses.

While Ceramics projects are included in the curriculum, our 3D courses go beyond clay and we explore other materials like plaster, soapstone, metal foil, wire, silkscreen, linoleum, textiles, multimedia and 3D Design. This curriculum is designed to introduce students to a variety of materials to build a wide range of experience. We also explore creativity and how to design original and unique ideas for our projects. As students progress through the program, they will be able to build a portfolio and challenge themselves to create high quality pieces of artwork.
