2-D Art

Students will learn many skills and techniques in the Columbus East 2D Art Course Program. Painting in tempera, watercolor and acrylic paints, drawing in graphic and colored pencils, mixed media techniques in tempera wash and collage, glass etching, silk screening and scratch board. The variety of techniques, along with introductory design elements will help the beginner to get started, while the intermediate and advanced art student can challenge themselves within the lesson. As skills are practiced and developed in each lesson, the step by step process called “scaffolding”, students build confidence each lesson. Portraiture, still life drawing and landscapes are the primary subject matter.
