Survey of Music Cycle: 5
In March we celebrate Music in Our Schools Month and Women’s History Month. The purpose of Music In Our Schools Month is to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children – and to remind citizens that school is where all children should have access to music. Music In Our Schools Month is an opportunity for music teachers to bring their music programs to the attention of the school and the community, and to display the benefits that school music brings to students of all ages. The lessons and activities included celebrating both Women in Music to honor Women’s History Month and Music In Our Schools Month to honor our music education.
SEL Warm Up:
SEL Warm Up: March is Music In Our Schools Month®, and we are celebrating with quotes from some of our close friends in the world of conducting, composition, and music education. Over the years, we have talked to many distinguished musicians, and one of the unifying topics of discussion has been the importance of music education. Now, we would like to share with you their thoughts.
Celebrate Music Education and Music in Our Schools Month with the National Association for Music Education and the Largest Choir in the World, American Young Voices! A few years ago elementary and middle school students from Baltimore City Public Schools participated in the concert in Washington, D.C.!
