The Fine Arts encompasses the disciplines of Dance, Music, Visual Arts, Media Arts, and Theatre. The Arts are a cornerstone of learning and development, as they promote growth by presenting opportunities for empathy, perseverance, problem-solving, analytical insight, and abstract thinking. Our vision is to engage Baltimore City students in a world-class Fine Arts experience to address their social, emotional, and physical development. We aim to engage students through intentional teaching, which we consider a three-pronged approach that balances inquiry into the physical world, analysis, and response to social systems, design thinking through STEAM, and 21st-century soft skills that include artistic habits of mind.
