BCIS will file taxes on behalf of all employees unless the employee wants to file themselves.
We will begin collecting documents in October so that we can file in January.
Please note: the process is lengthy, and the tax office will sometimes require additional documents from employees. If we are contacted for more documents, we will ask you.
When submitting your documents, please place them in a file folder with your name and the word TAXES. Please do not submit originals.
These are the required documents to submit each year:
1) Copy of passport
2) Copy of Tax ID card
3) Copy of Marriage Certificate (If applicable)
4) Copy of Spouses Passport (If Applicable)
5) Spouses Thai Tax ID number (If Applicable)
6) Copy of Children’s passport (If applicable)
7) Copy of Children’s Birth Certificate (If applicable)
**Please sign all copies and write your telephone number on your passport copy.
An employee is eligible for medical coverage if he or she is a full-time regular employee.
New employees who enter into this Agreement must sign-up for the School’s Health Plan or provide Administration with proof of insurance from an outside party after agreeing to the terms contained herein.
The total cost for the full school year is estimated to be between 10,000 and 12,000 THB. The employee is responsible for 50% of the total cost (estimated to be between 5,000 and 6,000 THB deducted in your first paycheck)
“Full-time” employee means that an employee is hired to work an average of forty (40) regular hours per week. Temporary and internship employees are not eligible to participate in the plans.
Employees who go from part-time to full-time employment become eligible for full benefits on the first day of the month following the effective date of the change work.
The cost of insurance is only pro-rated for employees who begin working for BCIS after October 1st, 2023 OR for employees whose coverage is approved after October 1st, 2023. Coverage begins 30 days following the Employee’s approval from the provider and ends August 10th, 2024 for employees who choose to enter into the 2023-2024 school year’s Health Plan and were enrolled at the beginning of the school year.
The Employee’s spouse and children are eligible to enter into the Health Plan for the full price of the plan per person.
Employee coverage will begin after the insurance company receives and approves the
employee’s application. The application form serves as a request for coverage and authorizes
any payroll deductions necessary to pay for the employee’s coverage.
It is strongly recommended by the school that you get accident insurance.
If you would like to get the schools accident insurance please prepare 890 baht and a copy of your passport and take it to Nurse Dream and she will arrange to get you signed up. Once your accident insurance arrives she will notify you.
If you have any questions please contact dream.thidaporn@bcisschool.ac.th
Please note Accident insurance is different from the Health insurance we offer.
You can review more information about the accident insurance below
Health/Life Insurance not through the school:
Additionally, if you have outside Health/Life insurance, this can be claimed on taxes in Thailand. The form you will need your insurance provider to give you I have included this below in Thai as it is easier for the insurance company. If you have any questions on this, please let us know.
1. หนังสือรับรองการรับชำระเบี้ยประกันสุขภาพ
2. หนังสือรับรองการรับชำระเบี้ยประกันภัย
Please note, We do not keep copies of sensitive documents such as your passport, marriage certificates, spouse’s passports, children’s passports, and children’s birth certificates. If you would like us to maintain a tax documents file on your behalf, please let us know.
Thank you, we will begin processing Thai taxes in January once they open the online platform.
US Citizens
US Citizens are required to file taxes while working abroad; however, unless you earn over $102,000 USD per year you will not be required to pay US taxes. It is still mandatory to file. You can file online or contact an agent. If you need documents from BCIS, please let Kylee in HR know exactly what is needed, as each states requirements vary.
All Other Countries
BCIS is not familiar with the other countries requirements on filing taxes while working abroad, please contact your consulate or embassy for questions.
