Renovatio (May 2016 – June 2017)
Chirag was keenly interested in contributing to the cause of education, which he believes is the single area that if worked upon, can resolve thousands of other issues on the social front. He volunteered for Renovatio's project Dream Catcher where he educated kids in 2 sessions at railway schools in Nagpur. He further worked as a graphic designer for different promotional social media posts and organised the graphic repository for the NGO’s future design purposes.
I-Clean Nagpur
Chirag participated in 2 cleanup projects with this student led team, where the ugliest corners of the city were cleaned up and beautified by decorating and painting the civic walls and footpaths that had become a victim of irresponsible garbage dumping, tobacco spitting and irregular cleaning. The team believed that just cleaning places won't ensure that they don't get dirty again, but revamping them with some green life and creative work could make people resist from ruining a place that looks beautiful.
Swachh Nagpur
Having been already working for the environmental issues under UTH, Chirag was connected as an NGO partner to Swachh Nagpur which was working on the same front. Chirag participated in conducting city forums to discuss and come up with solutions to tackle the mismanagement of waste in the city. He also organised workshops for waste segregation in a few apartments and collected footage for an awareness video on garbage burning.
E-Cure
E-Cure is an NGO which mainly deals with waste segregation and recycling. Chirag worked for the NGO in spreading awareness about the issue of garbage and pollution. The activities included surveying the best garbage management practices in the city, spreading awareness among road traffics to turn off engines at long halt traffic signals, convincing college and school students to segregate their wastes, establishing basic waste segregation facilities in a few apartments in Tavarekere that consented to take up better waste management activities.
