BAS follows the decisions of the Prince George’s County school system in regards to weather related (with the exception of closing for heat) school closings, early dismissals, and late openings. Decisions are announced on local radio (WTOP 1500 AM) and television stations. 

In the case of a late opening, BAS kindergarteners do come to school, regardless of the public school procedure. Parents and students are requested not to call the school office or personnel for this information. 

For a one-hour delay, before care begins at 8:45 and classes start at 9:30.  For a two-hour delay, before care begins at 9:45 and classes start at 10:30.

There is no after school care on days where BAS is dismissed early due to inclement weather.
